As I was completing this collage, I struggled to find a name that
would fully express its meaning. I played around with many,
such as
Follow Your Heart
and
Key to My Heart,
but none fully expressed what the piece was about. Then I
walked into the supermarket and Rosie O'Donnell's picture was on the
cover of People with the caption "Rosie's Brave Step". As soon as I
saw it, I was taken aback almost to the point of tears because I
knew that I had been given the perfect title. Rosie's courage
to be true to herself mirrors the journey so many have taken in my
life, including myself, to step bravely forward in spite of enormous
fear and blinding obstacles. This collage is a tribute to all
the people in my life who have had the courage to move past their
emotional chains, and find their heart's desire that lives beyond
them.
